Terms of Use

1. Who can play

You must be 18 or older. By joining, you confirm you are. The Mehfil Team is not responsible for minors who misrepresent their age.

2. What this is

Mehfil is entertainment software. The games are designed to be uncomfortable on purpose. You are responsible for how you treat other players.

3. User-generated content

Some games (like Blackmail Bank) allow players to submit content — secrets, statements, or prompts. By submitting content, you confirm that:

• It is about yourself, or you have consent from the subject
• It is not defamatory, harassing, or unlawful
• You are solely responsible for it

The Mehfil Team acts as a passive conduit only. We do not review, verify, or endorse user-submitted content. If you believe content submitted in a game defames you, your claim is against the player who submitted it, not the Mehfil Team.

4. No accounts required

Guest play needs no account. A room only keeps what the game needs (a random player ID, the name you pick, your game answers) and is deleted after 48 hours of inactivity. Details in our Privacy Policy.

5. If you sign in

Signing in with Google or Apple lets us store your name, email, and game history. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising. You can request deletion by emailing us. Data is stored on servers in the United States (Neon / Vercel).

6. Limitation of liability

Mehfil is provided as-is, with no warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Mehfil Team's total liability to you for any claim is capped at NZD $0. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including hurt feelings, damaged friendships, or regrettable confessions.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the Mehfil Team harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of Mehfil, your violation of these terms, or content you submit.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use Mehfil to harass, defame, or harm others. We can suspend access to any room at our discretion.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of Mehfil means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New Zealand.

11. Severability

If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest of these terms remain in effect.
